Seeing referene to recalls on the US Ariya Forum. Does anyone know if UK vehicles are affected, something to do with the inverter?
Cheers

No idea on the lesser featured UK model but this is the USA info..
I do wonder how the software fix works because its basically a fail safe they are disabling but hey ho its nissan.

"On affected Ariya vehicles, there is a potential that conductive fibrous shavings
from the drive motors’ slip ring assembly can momentarily short circuit the
two slip rings. If this occurs, the fibrous shavings are instantaneously burnt out
resulting in no damage to any components. However, due to the fail-safe
protocols, when the inverter detects a momentary over-current due to the
short circuit, it cuts the motor torque to protect internal components of the
controller, resulting in a loss of drive and “EV System Off” message displayed
on the dashboard to alert the driver."

In communication with Nissan about the pre-conditioning alarm, I was advised that there is recall on my car for the inverter. Not advised about any solution to the alarm problem yet though.

The alarm problem should be a simple software fix, to disable it during pre condition. But nothing is simple with nissan.

The recall is now posted on the Gov.uk. Website.
My vehicle is due to have a software update tomorrow whilst vehicle is being checked for faulty 12v battery.
Dealer advised that it was a recall and that the vehicle cannot released until the software has been installed

I have not received any notification from Nissan about the recall

Disturbingly there should have been some contact from the dealership from 20th October onwards. So far I have heard nothing so have sent this information to the dealer.

Beginning on October 20, 2023, owners of all potentially affected vehicles
will be notified to bring their Ariya to a Nissan dealer for repair.

Apparently it has appeared in US apps. Haven't checked mine yet so maybe start there.

Mines due. Will take it to a different dealer, as Telford are useless.

Had this problem and it got chinned of even when I had evidence. Annoying. Hopefully this will fix it.
