Re: Extortionate cost of renewing Nissan Connect services

Yorkie, well done. I just tired of it all and opted out. The tracker is https://www.rewiresecurity.co.uk/db2-self-install-diy-gps-tracker I continue to be very impressed with it. That link takes you to their website but the device can be bought at lower cost from a mega online sales corporation. It ...

Re: Extortionate cost of renewing Nissan Connect services

Well, the answer is, they are not listening! In fact, they are part of an industry that is collectively moving in that direction. I got caught out because I didn't ask. The reason for that is that our last few cars from JLR come with 3 years of all but the high cost tracker surveillance working. I n...

Re: 12v battery discharge again

ThoughI have never had a problem with the 12v battery, I am concerned about both the reports in these threads and the fact that the 12v system seems to behave so peculiarly. I am one of the cheapskates who won't pay any subscription to Nissan. So, after 2 years, pretty much all the App tells me is t...

I left mine at Gatwick for a week and it still had the same SOC as I left it when I got back.

Re: Steering Tie rod - nearside. Help!!!!

Is it an option to take the rack out and get the rod straightened? You will need a lift of course.

Re: Steering Tie rod - nearside. Help!!!!

Ouch! I'm not surprised that the whole rack is sold as a unit. You won't get any help from Nissan as they are totally useless. The model is well over 2 years old now and second hand values of the early ones are low enough to mean moderate crashes are writing them off. Half an hour with a phone to sc...

Don't get too excited! The update only prepares the car for updates. There aren't any functional updates yet.

Re: 12v battery discharge again

Don't jump at the boot battery. Sometimes that can be difficult anyway if you have no power. Under the bonnet, the live connection point is very clear marked with red. For negative, select any nut or bolt that is clearly screwed into the body. There are a couple of convenient ones.

Re: Accessory Service Connector location

Just buy one of these bridges. In the fuse box, choose an unused item if you don't have a max spec. car or double up with a relaively inconsequential item. I chose the sun roof. Down near the steering column there are loads of easy points to connect the neutral. Total job took me little over half an...

Re: Nissan Connect Live Maps and Data

I wrote to Nissan over the same issue RamblyRunner. I have no option to buy Maps and Data. No answer yet.
