Speaking to Octopus and the Nissan dealer didn’t come up with a solution.
Here is what I managed to do to get the Ariya back working with Intelligent Octopus Go.

The solution I used is outlined below:
1. In the car with the EV cable attached and engine turned on - go to apps and EV schedule page
2. Set a charging schedule outside the current actual time
3. Select ‘only charge at home’
4. Select ‘carry out test charge’ using the Octopus app.
5. Wait for the schedule you had set in the car to change (you will see this happen dynamically on the screen). This is the Intelligent Octopus Go taking over control of the schedule.
The Octopus app will then confirm the test was successful and a new charging schedule will appear against the max charge set and the ready by time you set on the Octopus app.
