another mystery for me....when using both motorola and samsung phones my wired android auto resolution on the ariya infotainment screen is very poor.

the ariya OE navigation screen is lovely and crisp..

any ideas?

With my S22, resolution on Android Auto is the same as Ariya Apps. I can only offer 2 things to try. 1. Clear the AA app cache on the phones. This is always worth trying if Apps suddenly don't function correctly. 2. There are some very variable quality USB C cables. Try a genuine Samsung and see if that helps.

i've tried 'upping' the resolution via developer part of AA and that dont work...cleared cache/data...

used 2 different cables but i'll try a genuine branded one..

thanks.

Take into account that Android Auto will never be exactly as crisp as on board software on any car, because it's a compressed video stream that it's not lossless, even at the native infotainment resolution target.

genuine cables used and the same problem..

i take on board what you say cosmyc but my wifes lowly citreon C1 has no problem displaying crisp graphics...

i heard that maybe wireless would be better than cable but of course the ariya will only work with cables..

Try this:

Go to Settings/ Apps/Android Auto

Tap additional settings in app, scroll down tap on version several times until developer mode is active

Then tap on the three dot menu on top right, choose developer settings

From there check the video resolution

How to explain... I get on Android Auto like 80% of the quality that native infotainment software has, it's not perfectly crisp but it's decent enough, even to see YouTube videos through it.
