jacippit, are you saying that the HV to 12 volt converter will always keep the 12 volt battery fully charged regardless as to whether the car is used? My last EV only charged the 12v when the car was in ready. I once left the car for 6 weeks; whilst the HV battery only lost a couple of percent, the 12v battery was 30% discharged.

I have hard wired my nextbase 620, but need to pick a different empty fuze slot. Whilst it's powered when of, for some reason it doesn't power the camera automatically wh en I press on button. Once I turn the cam on manually it works fine. Seems like it looses power upon start? Supposed to be perminant live. Clearly not. Wiring was easy though.

If the Ariya uses the same logic as the Leaf, the car will charge the 12V battery as and when it is required. In the 12 or so years that I ran Leaf(s) I never had a 12v battery problem, during the pandemic I was in the USA for three months, came back and the Leaf was good to go.

I don't know how some manufactures have managed to mess up this obvious requirement, worse than that, they know about it and brought the logic forward onto the newer models (EV6 for example).

Easiest way to connect a dashcam to tge Ariya is getting hold of the DOP connector (T99F6 4RA0A) which plugs into a socket under the dash and provides the signals required for many options. Seems to be readily available Stateside but can be obtained from Amazon in the UK.

Ariya Dashcam using fuse tap setup that works...
ACC/IGN Sense into USB Fuse 10A
BATT POWER into TURN&HAZARD 10A
You will need a 2x "MICRO2" fuse tap (add-a-circuit) if doing this. (Its not the MICRO get the MICRO2)
Ground - There was a nut just to the left of the fuse panel inside the dash - its just behind the plastic panel - about 8cm to the left. Use a small socket to loosen and fit grounding wire. Mine wasn't tight.
Of course the alternative is to use the wiring harness option that someone else suggested.
Just thought if anyone else wants an alternative - thats how you do it.

Am looking into fitting a dashcam to my new car. Where does the DOP connector plug into? Is it accessible without taking the dashboard apart / removing panels?
