Charging Curve
This is being vastly underrated by a lot of reviewers imho and they just report the headline maximum charging figure. The fact that the Ariya can maintain 90kWplus for over 30minutes is what really matters. Ask yourself this
1) When do you see 150kW plus chargers that could deliver that consistently?
2) Are you willing to pay the premium prices for ultra rapids?
Nissan has been smart to use battery conditioning so you arrive in the best state for charging coupled with liquid cooling to enable optimal charging conditions at a good rate for longer. Having a high headline figure that quickly drops off is not as good.

Exactly, this is an aspect of the Ariya that has been underestimated, the effective recharged range in 30min is similar to its rivals, those have a higher peak charging rate but is sustained for less time.Jacippit wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 12:14 pm This is being vastly underrated by a lot of reviewers imho and they just report the headline maximum charging figure. Found this on YouTube, heres part 2. The interesting facts are
1) he was very impressed at how fast the Ariya charged, a real time saver. But it did behave differently at times so BMS maybe effecting charging speed.
2) how quite the Ariya was
3) how smooth the Ariya is
4) I noticed how good the headlights are given they are LED's.
The only downside is the economy, around 2.7miles/kWh! However, he was hammering it 70mph plus constantly. Given the speed of the Airya's charging its a fine choice between hammering it and needing to charge, or a little more sedate and not charging on a 250mile journey. Personally somewhere between the two, bladder stop whilst topping up.

What a load of bollock. I have never got over 70kwh even with battery below 10% and 20c temp outside. This charge curve is shite. Nissan are liars.
So Nissan are liars, so I'm a liar too?markanthony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 11:03 am What a load of bollock. I have never got over 70kwh even with battery below 10% and 20c temp outside. This charge curve is shite. Nissan are liars.

I got 75kW from supposedly 150kW but there was someone charging next door from same IONITY unit. State of Charge was 40% and it was stable at 75 kW so I popped to the supermarket opposite to buy some supplies. When I returned it was at 95% and still going at 20 kW. That was 49 mins but if I had stopped at 80% it would have probably been 30 mins.

Anyone using Autopark ?
I’ve tried it many times but it is just slow scary and dangerous. It allows you to select slots over cars and pavements and it WILL drive onto a pavement. When Bay Parking it doesn’t allow you to see the rear of the vehicle when setting parking place. On a real road sensors going off all the time because it always puts full lock on needlessly sending front too close to cars on opposite side. When it did park in a bay I couldn’t open the door.
Love the 360 degree camera that is excellent & press camera when going forward as well, so it’s easy to park manually.
But the Autopark experience for me has not been good. Anyone actually using it?

I don't doubt your experience but that is at odds with mine. e.g. I was in France recently using a Tesla 150kW charge point. I started at under 5% and it was only circa 20c. The car went to 128 kW and never went below 125. I got 41 kW in 20 minutes. I only wanted 50% SOC so don't know how long that would have been sustained but strongly suspect it would have followed the curve above. I've had the car for 17 months and can confirm that curve is not bollocks in my experience.markanthony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 11:03 am What a load of bollock.
