Hi All

I know its new to market but i will will be luckily receiving my Ariya mid Oct.

I want to install a new dash cam and wondered if this car has an OBD2 socket, or is there a new standard for pure BEVs?

I could hard wire I know but need to find the fuses etc.

Thanks

Watching this with interest as I too will need to hardwire in a dashcam. But whats people's thoughts on this? If the 12v battery becomes drained by the dashcam the car will not start. Hmmmm.

So this is something I’ve been trying to look into.

I saw there are loads of people who have Ioniqs and EV6 using an adapter from a company called Dongar

https://dongar.tech/collections/adapters

Cars that have electric rear view or electrically dimmed rear view will have power supplied to it. This adapter connects between the car and the rear view mirror and adds a usb port. This would remove the need to wire it internally and have trailing cables in the cabin

They also sell adapters for Nissan. The question is how to take the plastic covering off. All the videos on YouTube show older Nissans and it seems Ariya has a different plastic cap. Can anyone help?

Here is the video for the ioniq install (one of many)

Using a normal hard wire kit, should come with an anti battery drain device. My Next base 622 has one of these that I use in my BMW x3 which is about to go on monday.

Spooran, good video for ideas on power adaptors. Hope these can be obtained within the UK.

Yeah they are available on their website and Amazon. The question is which adapter and how to do it on the Ariya

I was wondering where the fuze box was. Doesn't sound to bad if you know which fuze or empty slot to use for permanent live. My X3 was a bit more awkward until I found a spare slot, that didnt mean stripping carpets under the steering wheel.

Found one set of fuzes in the dash on the drivers side UK.

The fuzes are 8mm, haven't got an adapter that fits. Not seen one either yet??
