Rough ride?

Hi all, I’m new to the forum - picked up my Ariya last week - Evolve 87kw in Akatsuki Copper. It’s a lovely car however the ride feels quite rough through the wheels/tyres. I don’t recall it feeling like this when I did the test drive. I have it booked in with the dealer next week for them to look at but I wondered if anyone else had found this? Maybe it is just a rough ride which I hadn’t noticed during the test drive (unlikely I think), but if this is the case then I’ll be bitterly disappointed.

Please tell me your cars all ride smoothly and that mine had a fixable issue (wheel balancing maybe?)

Hi Maz66 , yes im experiencing a less than quality/disappointing ride. It is as if Nissan have fitted sub par dampers.
Tiring if the road is not the flattest.
Ariya Evolve 87kw 19" Wheels running Bridgestone Alenza B-Silent 235/55/R19 at 38PSI (the Nissan Chassis label recommended)

I don’t recall the ride being particularly rough when I took the showroom vehicle for a test drive but maybe it was? They’re going to look at it next week but if your vehicle is the same then maybe it is just how the car is which is very disappointing. I noticed you’d mentioned your tyres were a little overinflated - mine are also at 40 psi, and I had considered letting some air out but you say it’s not made a difference to the ride.

I had wrongly picked up online the tyre pressure should be 35PSI so I reduced them believing they were too high. This resulted in an ever so slightly softer ride still the same head shaking bob though. Ive since read the label on the door pillar and set them back to 38PSI.
Likewise on the test drive I had not noticed an issue but it was all dual carriageway.

In a way im glad its not just me being fussy, with this being a subjective issue i was thinking it was from coming from a very comfortable car. Unless they get it sorted I will be heading back to Lexus again in 3 years time.

My dealer has offered to let me try a demonstrator again which im going to take them up on asap.

Between a potentially dodgy ride, malfunctioning screens and the pre-conditioning alarm issue I cant wait to get it in the ear from the Mrs for convincing her to trade in her much beloved (do I really need a EV?) XC60 for a new Ariya.

I can only pray that 1 or 2 of these wont be a problem by the time ours arrives. Pretty please!

Sunstone, re the pre alarm issue, which I suffered by the way, once I learned the get around ie you get a prompt when exiting the car as to if you want the sensor off or on (it defaults to off) its a case of a single press to confirm. So for picky me its a non issue anymore.
Not had any malfunctions screen thus far.
Just the ride for me, and I imagine XC60 ride was fairly plush.

Different vehicle weight? Guessing test drives were in the 63kw vs now owning the 87kw?

I have the 63kW Advance that is so far problem free. In the main the suspension is OK though some bad surfaces can initiate a peculiar slight pitching from the front. Mine is on Dunlop Sport Maxx.

Tbh im looking forward to collecting the Ariya as our first family EV. Yes the ride in XC60 is pretty nice but as a last run of the previous gen XC60 its relatively aged in comparison to new cars im looking forward to my wife having a few mod cons.

As long as the technical glitches stay clear i reckon we'll handle the ride good or bad. (Famous last words!!)
