Here is an issue that is winding me up. For example, my estimated range is 250 miles. The max range displayed on the dash max range map in light grey is 190 miles. When planning a trip using ZapMap the battery remaining at a charge station is a lot more than what the car thinks it is. This can differ by 20% to 30%. This is totally useless. Using the car navigation planner, I would stop at more chargers.

Even if I plan a small trip, say 30 miles, the planner reckons I will be down to 70% at the destination when in fact there is 90% battery remaining.

What is going on?

Thanks.
There are a number of issues here and some potential solutions you might adopt.

The estimated range displayed is often referred to as the GOM in EV circles, it stands for Guessometer. Only a Tesla seems to have got this close to being right, the rest are in catch up mode. The car can only base its estimate on what has happened immediately before and because the software is not as sophisticated as Tesla, it assumes you will be driving in exactly the same way on the same roads in the same conditions. If that was driving hard in cool conditions into the wind and rain (sound familiar :D ) and today is the same then it may well be reasonably accurate. However, if we actually get a summers day, today fits the bill, then the opposite can be your experience.

As for the inbuilt sat nav? I never use it. I have a BT dongle that plugs into the USB slot and link my phone to the car so I can use Google maps. This is displayed on the big screen, along with directions on the drivers and head up display if you have one. The car is pretty good at estimating your current m/kWh so I ignore the GOM and just look at the SOC %. Then it's just mental arithmetic. Say you have 20% battery and you are averaging 3 m/kWh and your battery is like mine, 87kWh, it becomes 20 % of 87 = 17.4 x 3 = 52.2 miles range. I even get the car to do the maths by using Google, now connected by the BT dongle, by long pressing the voice control button and asking Google to do the maths. :D Now you may come back and say to me "this shouldn't be necessary" and I would completely agree with you, but unless you P ex it for a Tesla it is pretty much where most EV drivers are right now.
When using Google maps my HUD and Dash do not integrate and remain blank. How did you get yours to work? This does not explain why the Nissan Connect App is much more accurate with battery status compared with using the car Nav to plan.

HUD and Dash can't show Google Maps on currently built Ariya's.

Only when Nissan puts the new infotainment hardware with integrated Android Automotive it will have that functionality, it's already confirmed.

I think it is me confusing the drivers dash, not the HUD, need to check that next time I use Google maps. However, I do get Google maps showing on the left hand screen so not sure what you mean. Android Auto is available on my car so can connect via the phone, using a BT dongle, to Google.

The pictures show the apps loaded into the Ariya with a representation of Google maps working on it too.

HUD (Head-Up Display) is the projected screen on the windshield.
Dash driver or more precisely instrument cluster display is the one beneath the steering wheel.
Dash center or more precisely infotainment system display is the one that usually you call sat nav.

Currently built Ariya's have Android Auto and Google Maps map and directions through the infotainment display thanks to a connected phone but not over instrument or HUD or by the car itself.

What I was talking about is that soon newly built Ariya's will have Android Automotive operating system on board, and with that map and directions from Google Maps on infotainment display without mobile phone connected, instrument cluster display map and directions and HUD directions of Google Maps.

I checked it out yesterday and I don't get directions in the HUD when running Google maps.

I think you hadn't understood my post correctly, that functionality is for 2025 Ariya built models, if you get it that way.
