This is strange and despite reporting it to Nissan twice I’m yet to receive a response.
My free subscriptions to “remote services”, “Intelligent route planning” and “Live Maps and Data” were coming to an end. As far as I can tell, remote climate is part of “intelligent route planning” so I renewed that.
I’ve let “remote services” expire - it seems that’s just remote horn and remote lock/unlock (but not remote climate. Weird.)
Strangely I couldn’t renew “Maps and Live Data” it just showed “Updating” rather than an expiry date with no option to extend. On the day of expiry (today) it has vanished completely from the “Store” in the app. The app itself looks no different. I received an email saying they were sorry I hadn’t renewed it (even though I couldn’t and it’s now gone).
Does anyone know what this subscription was for?
Are you supposed to receive map updates if you have it? My maps in the car are very out of date (when I compared the version to the courtesy Juke I had when my Ariya was serviced a couple of weeks ago). I thought maps would be updated automatically OTA but my car hasn’t had any OTA updates at all since March 2023!
During the service I got 2 wired software updates so I’m hopeful map updates will start to happen but I’m curious whether anyone knows how map updates should work in the Ariya and why the “Maps and Live Updates” part of the app has now vanished?!?

I think the climate control aspect in intelligent route planning is to set the climate for a future trip. (I haven't renewed) The Remote Control Services (which I did renew) enables me to control climate even tho' it fails to mention it. AND the alarm doesn't go off now when I use it haha.

Thanks all. I’ll cancel my subscription to the intelligent route planning as it’s useless anyway until they fix the battery percentage remaining calculation which is totally wrong at the moment (that’s supposed to be one of the updates incoming if Nissan are to be believed). I’ll see what happens and whether remote climate vanishes. If it does I’ll try the remote services again to see if it comes back.
Ridiculous that they don’t clearly indicate what comes with what and they still haven’t got back to me about live maps and data (I suspect they have new year off and I shouldn’t begrudge them that just because I’m annoyed with them).
I’ll update this thread as the situation becomes clearer (if it does).
EDIT: Unsubscribed from “Intelligent Route Planner” and remote climate disappeared, as expected. Re-subscribed to “Remote Control Services” and it came back despite not being one of the services listed. Thanks for the tip - it will save me £1 a month. Only small thing is that the climate icon at the top of the main screen has gone so I have to go into the climate part of the app to see if it’s on.

Since the FAN icon on the app has now disapeared and I can no longer preheat the car from the luxury on my home I think i will be subscribing to “Remote Control Services” just for that feature.
How easy is it to unsubscribe as after May I should be ok without it.
Then come next Autumn I may have a different EV who hopefully doesnt employ money grabbing tactics

I subscribed to Battery Manager last year for £1.99/month tho' I never use the Start Charge (This would mean having car permanently plugged in, just in case). This shows the car's range in the app so suppose I'll have to keep just for that. This year to save me the "trouble of unwittingly cancelling a subscription" (which happened last year) they will automatically renew each year.....how very convenient (for them).

I've just cancelled Remote Services (Ends 31/1/25) They have kept my money and will cancel when next due. There was a mention of 14 day cancellation after buying where you would get a refund. Switching from Intelligent route planning and re-subscribing to remote control services hasn’t brought the fan icon back. I don’t know if this has anything to do with my subs changing or an app “update”. that icon seems to be gone. Not very helpful frankly - without it you have to go into the temperature section to see if the climate is on.Glen Best wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 2:51 pm Since the FAN icon on the app has now disapeared and I can no longer preheat the car from the luxury on my home I think i will be subscribing to “Remote Control Services” just for that feature.

Nissan tech support are investigating why I don’t have maps and live data available in my Nissan Store. Out of interest, does anyone else have the same issue? Can you see maps and live data in your Nissan Store whether or not you’re currently subscribed to it?
