I am trying to get a cleaner but simple installation for a dashcam.

Some research suggests that I could get an 'accessory service connector' as below and just plug it in somewhere under the dashboard. I could then run a USB cable around to behind the headlining by the rear view mirror.

Is it possible to access this connector without taking the dashboard apart? How do I locate it? I have searched high and low but the only images are for a Nissan Frontier, but that is a different car...

Seeing on the service manual there seems to be several accessory connectors, one specific for front fog lamps, other for towing, other for scuff plate lights and other for welcome lights.

Aside from those there are other two accessory connectors that are not specific to something but for... some generic purpose maybe?

Both connectors are 12 pin, and one of the two is more feature complete than the other, having front door switch, security indicator and horn signals added.

I guess for a dash cam the less feature complete is enough which features ignition, battery, battery saver, room lamp, through, accessory and ground signals.

If you have the intelligent rear view mirror, then try the usb dongle there:

I looked at this when the Ariya came out but didn’t how to take the top off. It’s similar in different cars

Just buy one of these bridges. In the fuse box, choose an unused item if you don't have a max spec. car or double up with a relaively inconsequential item. I chose the sun roof. Down near the steering column there are loads of easy points to connect the neutral. Total job took me little over half an hour. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164847249283
